Liz Van Otten, LPC, M.Ed
As a passionate mental health professional, I seek to provide creative and exploratory therapeutic practices to help children and adolescents blossom. I empathetically hold space for children to feel their emotions and make sense of their world. I seek to enhance their brain/body connections to aid in healthy development while healing from past experiences. My approach is playful and child-directed, empowering my clients in the therapeutic process.
I work with clients ages 2-21 from diverse backgrounds who need support in areas of grief, school adjustment, executive functioning, anxiety, ADHD, depression, behavior management, friendships, and family transitions. I am ready to help your child feel safe to work through life’s challenges. Walking alongside my clients, we can get through tough situations and circumstances together.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and certified school counselor. My extensive experience in education is helpful as we work through challenges in the school environment. I integrate play therapy, art therapy, CBT techniques, and mindfulness into my work. It’s an honor to be welcomed into a child’s innermost world. I thrive from these shared moments of awareness, and connection. It’s in these moments that children transcend past adverse experiences and their resilient nature shines brightly. I welcome opportunities to collaborate with your family and move towards wellness and healing.
Bernie is my therapy dog in training. He loves ear scratches, laying in the sun, and long walks.
